Also, with the co-operation of local authorities and Mr. Ruben Dario Rodriguez Camarena, a local guide, adventurer, YouTuber, conservationist and member of the Ngäbe Bugle nation, we have secured the land needed to move on to phase two.

Mariato District
Created in 2001, Mariato District is a district in the south-eastern corner of Veraguas Province in Panama. The district centre is the town of Llano del Catival, also known simply as Mariato.
Geographically, the district totalling 1,381 km² comprises the west-facing coast of the Azuero peninsula fronting the Gulf of Montijo. It shares the peninsula with Los Santos and Herrera Province, separated by a crest of low mountains, the Macizo de Azuero. The highest peak is Cerro Hoya (1,559 m) in the far south.
Punta Mariato at the southern tip of the district also holds the title as the southernmost point of North America.
Mariato is thinly populated with only 5,564 residents (2019 official estimate), dispersed over 149 settlements. The district seat, Llano del Catival, is the largest population center with 2,490 people (2010), accounting for 43% of the entire district.Â
Because the district is barely 20 years old, there are many untouched areas where ecosystems have continued to exist without external influence, which makes it an unmeasurable fountain of data. Yet it is accessible to conduct scientific studies in order to learn about environmental sciences and ecosystems.

Chichica
Chichica is located in the Comarca (indigenous reservation) Ngäbe-Buglé in the Republic of Panama. The Comarca is divided into three regions: Ňö Kribo, Nedrini, and Kadri. Each of these is divided into districts, and the districts are divided into "corregimientos", or townships per the Panamanian system. Chichica is located in the region Kadri, District Münä, and corregimiento of Chichica.
